School Board Will Take a Look at the District's Mission and Strategic Plan at Workshop Tuesday

Anyone is welcome to speak for up to three minutes at the start of the meeting.

Elmhurst Unit District 205 Board will hold a workshop meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the district , 162 S. York St.

Before the board convenes in open session, it will meet in closed session to discuss the collective bargaining agreement with the .

The open meeting will begin with recognition of National Merit Commended Students and Semifinalists. Faith Bendelow, Margaret Homeier, Tessa Kroll, Ryan McDonough, Margaret Patchett and Hari Sreedhar qualified as National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, and Lauralee Johnson, Michael Pettineo, Ruth Picha, Keith Pierzchala, Jacob Ruprecht, Kira Tebbe, Amber Virdi and Chloe Williams have been named National Merit Commended Students.

The board will then hear public comments. Individuals are welcome to speak for up to three minutes on any topic.

There are two topics under the category "workshop discussion." The first is a discussion on District 205's vision and mission statements.

The second is a discussion on a tentative outline of district goal setting and strategic planning. The board's current strategic plan can be found here. It includes the categories of curriculum and instruction, research and assessment, communications, human resources, governance and facilities.

After an announcement about the board's upcoming meetings, board members will share any other reports and information.
