Again this summer, Edison Elementary Principal Jim Pluskota selected a couple of days in to read books to neighborhood children on the front lawn of the school.
“This is my fourth year.” Principal Jim Pluskota said Wednesday. “I started this as a way welcome back the students. What a better way to start the school year. The kids choose the books and I read what they want me to read.”
Some families came to the reading with made the session toting picnic items and blankets draped over their shoulders to listen to fiction and non-fiction books being by the principals.

This is the second time Principal Laura Pfanenstiel read to Jefferson Elementary student on the lawn of the school.
“I heard about this and thought it was a good idea, said Laura Pfanenstiel. “I read the books 'Do You Have a Hat' and 'Frogs and Toads and Tadpoles, Too,' that’s why I had the hat and photos from my pond in my yard.”
