UPDATED: No School for Elmhurst Students Tuesday

Winter break continues. Wednesday is a scheduled, all-district late arrival day in District 205, as well.

Visitation Catholic School has announced it will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Elmhurst College announced on its Facebook page at about 2 p.m. that classes will likely resume on Tuesday, but that could change.

Updated at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6:

Immaculate Conception Grade School, IC Catholic Prep, Timothy Christian Schools and Immanuel Lutheran also will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

As of 2 p.m. Monday, Visitation School and Elmhurst College had not yet announced closure on Tuesday.

Elmhurst public schools will be closed for a second day, Tuesday, due to continued extreme temperatures, according to an announcement issued by District 205 Superintendent David Pruneau at noon Monday.

All after school and evening activities are also cancelled. Pruneau also reminded parents that Wednesday, Jan. 8, is a scheduled, district-wide late arrival day. 

Any student who receives transportation through District 205, including those who attend the Technical Center of DuPage and out-of-district special education programs, will not be transported. Students who are affected will receive an excused absence.

As of noon Monday, other schools in Elmhurst, including IC Catholic Prep and Timothy Christian, have not announced closures for Tuesday.
