Immaculate Conception Grade School Students Clean Up with Awards to Close Out the School Year

School may be out, but there's still good news to report.

Fourth-, fifth-, sixth- and seventh-grade students at Immaculate Conception Grade School in Elmhurst gathered in the IC church for the annual end of the year awards ceremony May 31.

ICGS Principal Cathy Linley began by welcoming Elmhurst Firefighter Jeff Hayes, who announced two ICGS winners in the Elmhurst Fire Department’s Learn Not to Burn poster contest. They were fourth-graders Peter Walega and Mary Katherine Kapsch.

Linley proceeded to present awards to Student Council representatives, after school tutors, members of the safety patrol, state science fair gold medal winners, the spelling bee winner, physical fitness test achievers, and the participants and winners of various speech, math and science contests were recognized.
