IC Catholic Prep will Induct Athletic Hall of Fame Members at Saturday Basketball Game

Funds raised will go to the American Cancer Society in honor of ICCP parent Kevin Radoha.

IC Catholic Prep in Elmhurst will induct two individuals and an entire team to its Athletic Hall of Fame this weekend.

Individual inductees are Kathleen (Dohse) Amro, Class of 1979, and Joseph Dalpiaz, Class of 1957.

The 1981 IHSA Class A State Championship volleyball team will be the first team ever inducted. Team members include Donna Collignon Chambers, Jackie Brichetto Croci, Jean Field (coach), Maureen Dunne Grady, Diane Graham (coach), Lisa Delgade Kleiner, Teri Shuma Lind, Debbie McElroy, Margaret Puzyk Meskan, Mary Donohue Rachford, Gerry Dvorak Reid, Ann Schwartz, Alice Simonaitis Miller, Katie Loughman Theophilus, Dawn Kessling Zuffante and the late Linda Tully.

The honor will be bestowed at halftime of the ICCP varsity boys basketball game against Fenwick, which is set to tip off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. Inductees and their families and friends also will take part in a celebratory Mass and Athletic Hall of Fame reception prior to the game.

Also on Saturday, the ICCP girls and boys basketball programs will host Play for a Cure to raise funds for the American Cancer Society through the Coaches vs. Cancer program. Teams will don special royal blue jerseys, representing the fight against colon cancer, in honor of the recent passing of IC Catholic Prep parent Kevin Radoha.  A silent auction and split-the-pot raffle also will be part of the fundraising effort. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society to help raise awareness about cancer and support the ongoing search for a cure.

The girls sophomore game is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m., and the girls varsity at 2 p.m., both against Willows Academy. Sophomore boys will also play against Fenwick at 11 a.m.  All games will be held at the ICCP gymnasium, 130 Arthur St. in Elmhurst.
