WorkNet DuPage Hosts Youth Summer Job Fair May 10

WorkNet DuPage will host a job fair for high school and college age students who are looking for summer jobs.

DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin said the job fair provides a great opportunity for students to meet with businesses that are currently hiring.

“Unfortunately the employment rate for teens and young adults is at the lowest levels since the end of the Great Depression. The job fair will provide a great resource for teens to job search, network and meet employers who are hiring right now,” he said.

The Youth Summer Job Fair will take place from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at workNet DuPage Career Center, 2525 Cabot Drive, Suite 302, Lisle. The job fair is open to high school and college students looking for seasonal employment. Attendees must be at least 17 years old to participate.

Employers include Aerotek Professional Services, Brookfield Zoo, Office Depot, PGA Tour Superstore, TJ Maxx, Manpower and UPS.

Job seekers should bring an updated copy of their resume and be prepared to complete applications that day with the employers.

The job fair is part of an effort led by the National Association of Workforce Boards to promote a nationwide Youth Summer Job Fair Day on May 10.
