Journalist Speaks on College Success

Angela Burt-Murray, a novelist and journalist who has served as top editor at Essence magazine, will speak on “Success 101: A College Student’s Roadmap to Getting the Life You Want.” She served as executive editor of Teen People magazine, where she conceived some of its premier franchises: the web site Young Hollywood and The Teen People Annual Sex Survey. She was executive editor at Honey magazine from 2001 to 2003 and the fashion and beauty features editor for Essence from 1998 to 2001. Burt-Murray is the co-author of the humor book, The Angry Black Woman’s Guide to Life, and the novel, The Vow.
