Fox News Analyst KT McFarland will Discuss Democracy and Global Security

As a national security commentator who appears regularly on Fox News and other TV, online and radio programs, KT McFarland offers her take on major global news developments and their implications for the U.S.

On Thursday, April 12, McFarland will visit Elmhurst College to discuss “Democracy and Global Security,” drawing on her years of experience in national security posts in the Nixon, Ford and Reagan administrations.

Kathleen Troia “KT” McFarland is the host of FOXNews.com’s DEFCON 3, one of the Internet’s most watched national security shows. In addition to her work as a media commentator, she writes a regular column for FOXNews.com.

Educated at Oxford University and MIT, McFarland has served as a deputy defense secretary under President Ronald Reagan, a research assistant to Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and a member of the National Security Council under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. She is a recipient of the Defense Department’s highest civilian award, and was a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from New York in 2006.

McFarland’s talk, part of the Democracy Forum lecture series at Elmhurst College, begins at 7 p.m. in the Founders Lounge of the Frick Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.

The Democracy Forum is a yearlong series of lectures that illuminate the problems and promise of democracy and civic engagement. For more information, call (630) 617-3390 or visit www.elmhurst.edu.
