Edison Kindergarten Teacher Named Star Educator
Elmhurst City Council honors Tammy Dospoy at Monday's meeting.
Edison kindergarten teacher Tammy Dospoy was recognized at the Elmhurst City Council meeting Monday for receiving the Kickoff for Kids Star Educator Award. She is the first recipient of the award, which will be presented monthly.
The award, which she received May 4, includes a $300 cash prize to be used for classroom activities and supplies. Award recipients are selected based on their performance and commitment to education.
Kickoff for Kids is looking for its next Star Educator. Elmhurst residents may submit a written nomination by visiting KoK's Web site. All Elmhurst elementary teachers who teach either regular or special education in public or private schools are eligible. Nominations should be no more than 300 words.
