District 205 School Board to Hear a Recap of 2010-'11 Finances

Elmhurst Unit District 205 School Board will hold its regular business meeting July 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the administration building, 162 S. York St.

First up on the agenda is recognition of Jefferson fifth-grader Meghan Quinn, who came in third place in the state in the Illinois Bicyclist and Active Transportation Alliance poster contest.

Members of the public will then be invited to speak on any topic for up to three minutes per person.

The board will then hear an end-of-year recap of the district’s 2010-11 finances.

In addition to approval of  personnel and financial reports, the consent agenda includes the following items:

  • Freedom of Information Act requests
  • Approval of the donation of an Apple iPod Learning Lab cart worth $6,600 to Lincoln Elementary School. The cart includes 20 iPod Touch.
  • Approval of a lease-to-purchase schedule with Dell for computer equipment worth $210,625
  • Approval to dispose of surplus printers, TVs and computers. Equipment will be refurbished and sold, with proceeds going to the district.
  • Appointment of Chris Whelton as the authorized agent for the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund
  • Adoption of a new policy on identity protection for the district’s collection, storage, use and disclosure of social security numbers
  • Approval of several updates to the district's police manual

Finally, the board will announce its upcoming meetings and hear any other reports from board committees.
