Dist. 205 Offers Important Information for Summer and 2014-15 School Year

Information about physicals, registration, proof of residency, and free breakfasts for qualified students.

While families are enjoying summer, students still need to get immunized and registered for the new school year. Dist. 205 offers up important information for the summer and 2014-15 school year, including enrollment, proving residency, and where students in the federal lunch program during the school year can receive a nutritious breakfast in the summer.

In addition to the residency verification process currently in place, Elmhurst School District 205 will now be conducting an additional annual verification of residency for all incoming freshman students at York High School. This is to help ensure that only students who legally reside within the District’s boundaries receive educational services funded by District tax dollars. Before going through residency verification, each student who will attend York High School during 2014-2015 needs to have completed the Infosnap online registration.

Step 1 - Infosnap Online Registration:

Online registration, which is a separate process from course selection and fee payment, involves going online and filling out required information for your student. You must complete the online registration for each child that is enrolled in the District.

The email or letter for the Infosnap online registration was sent out the first week in May. (If you did not receive this email or letter for a York student, please call 630-617-2458).

During the school year, many children receive free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch through the School Breakfast and National School Lunch Programs. What happens when school lets out?

Hunger is one of the most severe roadblocks to the learning process. Lack of nutrition during the summer months may set up a cycle for poor performance once school begins again. Hunger also may make children more prone to illness and other health issues. The Summer Food Service Program is designed to fill that nutrition gap and make sure children can get the nutritious meals they need.

Reminder of 2014-15 School Immunization Requirements

Many health care providers are seeing Illinois students for school physicals and immunizations for the upcoming fall. Parents need to make sure they understand the health code changes and how these may impact your child. The new requirements are spelled out in a letter from the Illinois Department of Public Health which is available on the District 205 website (www.elmhurst205.org). District 205 requires all students to be in compliance with state mandated physical examination and immunization requirements by October 15th of each school year.
