Colleges Send Word of Elmhurst Students' Accomplishments

Following is a list of the accomplishments of Elmhurst students as they continue their education at colleges both near and far.

Matthew Mordini, as part of the Handel Oratorio Society at Augustana College in Rock Island, participated in the 132nd performance of Handel's Messiah. The society has more than 200 members, including professors, students, alumni and staff. Handel's Messiah tells the story from the prophesizing of Christ's birth to His resurrection. The performances also included a 35-member professional orchestra. Mordini is a senior majoring in political science.

Augustana also presented its fifth annual Christmas at Augustana holiday concert. More than 300 students in the college's choirs, brass ensemble and orchestra shared music in two sold-out shows Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Elmhurst students who participated are senior Stephanie Dantino, biology major; senior Matthew Mordini, political science and religion; junior Rachel Przybylek, music and psychology; junior Kenna Rago, sociology-social welfare and religion; and sophomore Mark Swanson, liberal studies.

Matthew Krause, a third-year student at Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, N.Y., was named to the dean's list for the fall quarter. He is a student in RIT's College of Applied Science and Technology.

Glenn Morgan was admitted to Concordia University, St. Paul, Minn., for the fall 2013 semester. He was awarded the Concordia Opportunity grant.

Elizabeth Dalrymple, Daniel Headley, Kayla Kummerow, Kimberly Smaga and Brian Zable were named to the dean's list for the fall term at North Central College, Naperville. Students on the dean's list must maintain a 3.6 grade-point average.

Lydia Wolfe, a member of the Cantorei at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn., performed in the annual St. Olaf Christmas Festival, one of the oldest musical celebrations of Christmas in the U.S. Wolfe, the daughter of Thomas and Caroline Wolf, is a chemistry and Spanish major.

Matthew Graziano was named to the dean's list for the fall quarter at Milwaukee School of Engineering. He is an architectural engineering major.

Kenneth Zillig and Brian Spisiak were named to the dean's list at Carleton College, Northfield, Minn.
