Calling All Members of York's Class of '72

Help get the word out; a 40th reunion is being held next month and the reunion committee is looking for classmates.

Richard Nixon was president. Atari launched the video game craze with Pong. Bobby Fischer beat Boris Spassky to become World Chess Champion. Apollo 17 landed on the moon.

And, a most awesome group of seniors was enjoying their last year at York High School.

It was 1972.

It's time to celebrate that great class, now 40 (gasp!) years later. York High School Class of 1972 will hold its 40th reunion Oct. 12-13, and reunion committee members are hoping to reach as many classmates as possible to share in the weekend festivities.

Weekend events include a Friday evening gathering at , 447 S. Spring Road in Elmhurst, a Saturday golf outing at Oak Brook Golf Club, a special Saturday afternoon tour of and a Saturday evening party at the DoubleTree Hotel, 1909 Spring Road in Oak Brook.

Classmates are urged to visit www.york72.myevent.com to register, purchase tickets, share memories, ask questions and add photos. In addition, Facebook users may visit the Class of `72 Reunion Facebook page.

This once-in-a-decade event will benefit from the interest and participation of all classmates. If you are (or someone you know is) a classmate, please contact the reunion committee as soon as possible. Admission price increases after Sept. 30.
