Big Winner for Top Pizza Family Night Fund-raiser

District 205 Foundation raised more than $3,000 for students.

The top prize for the Top Pizza fund-raiser April 13 went to Roberto's, but the big winners of the night were students in Elmhurst District 205. Proceeds from the evening were more than $3,000, which will go to future Thiems grants, targeted projects and other initiatives to benefit Elmhurst public schools.

More than 300 participants enjoyed sampling pizzas from nine of Elmhurst’s favorite pizzerias. The event was hosted by the Elmhurst District 205 Foundation, and York National Honor Society and foundation board of director volunteers doled out pizza samples for tasting. Attendees then cast ballots for their favorites in several categories. The opinions of loyal pizza fans and foundation supporters unable to attend were also counted through online votes.

On behalf of all students and teachers in Elmhurst, the District 205 Foundation Board of Directors would like to thank all of the pizzerias that participated.  Without their generous donations and participation in this friendly competition, this delicious fund-raiser could not have happened.
