Hinsdale Home Sells Below 2009 Price; Goes for $2.25 Million

The home is located at 132 E. 5th St. and stretches an entire city block, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

David Schuppan, a private-equity executive for Chicago-based Cressy & Co., sold a five-bedroom home that extends a full city block in Hinsdale for less than what he paid for the home in 2009, according to Crain's Chicago Business.

In September 2009, the home at 132 E. Fifth St. in Hinsdale sold for $2,587,000, according to realtor.com. On Jan. 6, 2014, the home sold for $2,250,000.

The home was first listed for sale in May 2012 for $2,899,000 and was later delisted before the price was lowered a handful of times until it was sold in recent weeks, according to realtor.com.

The Crain's article reports Schuppan bought a Winnetka home owned by the Crate & Barrel founders for $5 million last fall and Shuppan did not return calls from Crain's regarding his recent purchase in Hinsdale.
