Elmhurst District 205 Board

The School Board is holding a special meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the District 205 administration center, 162 S. York St.

Board members will hold a closed session prior to the open meeting to discuss employment of an employee and collective bargaining.

When they adjourn from closed session, at about 7 p.m., they will take comment from the public.

The first discussion will be about the continuation of a TIF extension requested by the village of Bensenville.

The bulk of the meeting will be spent on budget cuts. The board hopes to make its final recommendation by the next meeting on March 8.

Elmhurst City Council Committees

All committees will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 209 N. York St.

  • Development, Planning and Zoning will address a request by a developer to construct a six-townhome development at 357 W. First St., which is part of the downtown Office District.
  • Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services will begin a review of water and sewer rates, continue review of the working cash fund repayment plan, continue review of a disclosure ordinance referral, and review the hotel/motel tax history.
  • Public Affairs and Safety will discuss Community Bank of Elmhurst’s annual 4 on the 4th Run, a yield sign request for Saylor and Wilson, and Timothy Christian School’s request for a no turn on red requirement at Butterfield and Prospect.
  • Public Works and Buildings will review the 2011 storm sewer extension program and discuss sidewalk programming and Allied Waste Company’s annual contract adjustment.
