Who Wants to be an Alderman? Mayor Morley is Looking for Candidates for His Former 6th Ward Seat

April election left a vacancy that needs to be filled within 60 days.

Elmhurst Mayor Steve Morley is looking for his replacement—for his former position, that is.

Morley's election one month ago left his 6th Ward seat vacant, and he is seeking 6th Ward residents who are interested in filling the remainder of his term, which is two years.

"I have 60 days to find a replacement with the advice and consent of the council," he said at Monday's City Council meeting. "I'm asking folks to apply as soon as possible."

Morley said applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 15. They can be found in the document center on the city's website, www.elmhurst.org, or by clicking here. Completed applications can be mailed or dropped off at City Hall, 209 N. York St.

For more information, call City Hall at (630) 530-3010.
