TIF Incentives, Electronic Signs, Vehicle Policy Among Agenda Items at City Committee Meetings Monday

All four standing committees meet at 7 p.m. Monday.

Elmhurst City Council members will meet in their four standing committees to discuss everything from electronic signs to TIF incentives at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at , 209 N. York St.

Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services Committee agenda includes a review of health and dental insurance renewal recommendations, the city's vehicle policy, and the tax increment financing incentive application process.


Development, Planning and Zoning Committee will continue its discussion on electronic signs, and review a request to allow vehicle sales at 940 N. Industrial Drive.

The Public Works and Buildings Committee will discuss the Stormwater Subcommittee report and sanitary system improvements. Also on the agenda is a discussion on a possible right-of-way vacation, the purchase of a computerized maintenance management system, and review of bids for the 2012-13 sewer cleaning and televising project, the 2012 sidewalk replacement program, and two Ford F150 4x4 pickups.

Public Affairs and Safety Committee will discuss the Turkey Trot and the Irish Spring 5-K race, and review the Oneida and Chatham intersection.

The public is invited to speak at all of the committee meetings.

City Council members will meet in executive session prior to the committee meetings, at 6 p.m., to discuss acquisition of real property.

I agree with you but I don't know if we as just citizen's can do anything to stop that practice. IRead More wish that each cyclist had to have a license, and that it was enforced by laws and police, on the bike so that people could report occurrences and have the person receive a ticket just like a person driving an auto. That would make sense.

I was really hoping that the Elmhurst Police would sound in on this info-I do understand kids willRead More be kids, but if one of them is hurt, that adult driver will need to live with that for the rest of their life-so let's come up with a solution for both bicyclist and cars to be in harmony. I really think that a step up in enforcement in the bicycle laws would help-just like the drunk driving laws-believe me the bicycle laws are just as important.
