State's Attorney Hires Civil Bureau Chief

Veteran prosecutor Greg Vaci joins DuPage County State's Attorney's Office as the new Chief of the Civil Bureau.

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin on Friday announced veteran prosecutor Gregory Vaci has joined the State’s Attorney’s Office as the new Chief of the Civil Bureau. As Chief, Vaci will supervise 16 attorneys and support staff responsible for representing DuPage County Government and all of its elected officers in their official capacities, according to a news release from the State's Attorney's Office.

Vaci joins DuPage County after serving in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office as Supervisor of the Labor and Employment Unit where he supervised 13 Assistant State’s Attorneys engaged in labor and employment related litigation in federal and state courts, according to the release. He began his career in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in 1990, assigned to the Criminal Division. In 2000, he began working on civil litigation with the office and climbed the ranks to his most recent position.

“I am very happy to welcome Greg to our office,” Berlin said. “I have had the pleasure of working with Greg on many issues in the past and I found him to be an intelligent, thoughtful and talented attorney. Greg brings more than two decades worth of experience with him and we are lucky to have him on our team. With his administrative, trial and policy skills, I am sure Greg will prove to be a tremendous asset to our office and to the citizens of DuPage County.”
