Internship runs Sept. 1 through Dec. 15.

State Rep. Chris Nybo, R-Elmhurst is currently seeking high school and college candidates who are interested in gaining legislative and public policy experience through his fall legislative internship program.

“The Legislative Intern Program provides a unique opportunity for community-minded individuals to learn more about state government, public policy and legislative affairs,” Nybo said.

The internship program will be offered during the fall semester months from Sept. 1 through Dec. 15, and will provide hands-on experience in office management, community relations, constituent communications, monitoring local issues, along with formulating and evaluating policy positions.

“This was a great experience to be a part of the legislative process and to serve constituents who had questions about state issues,” said Jon Osterhout, an Elmhurst resident who will be completing his summer internship. “I strongly encourage any student who is interested to apply for this fun and exciting program which gave me hands-on experience in public policy.”

Nybo’s district staff will also work with the students in need of education and community service credits. The fall internships are flexible in terms of hours and length of commitment for students who may have other obligations.
