State Rep. Chris Nybo Recognized at Elmhurst City Council Meeting Monday

Nybo starts his legislative work in Springfield tomorrow.

Illinois State Rep. Chris Nybo (R-41, Elmhurst) was recognized for his service to the city of Elmhurst Monday night.

Before being elected state representative in November, Nybo served as Elmhurst’s 5th Ward alderman from 2007-2010.

“He is a great young guy that’s got a hunger for public service,” Mayor Pete DiCianni said. “Now he’s giving back at the state level.”

As is customary when an alderman retires or leaves his post to pursue a higher office, he or she receives a rocking chair from the city.

“We can’t say thank you enough,” DiCianni said.

Nybo said the chair will be the best piece of furniture he has in his Springfield office, and his door is always open to residents of Elmhurst.

“There will be a chair in the state Capitol with your name on it,” he said.

He used the opportunity to provide his new contact information. Residents can reach Nybo by e-mail at chris@chrisnybo.org, or by phone at (630) 519-3652. He said his local legislative office is located at 318 Westmore Road Suite A, in Lombard.

He will begin in earnest the business of the state Legislature tomorrow.

“Literally tomorrow, I will get in my car and drive down for my first day of real work in the Capitol,” he said. “I’m excited about the opportunity to represent Elmhurst.”
