Reboletti's Crime Free Housing Bill Signed by Gov. Quinn

Bill allows landlords to evict tenants who commit crimes.

Gov. Pat Quinn signed a bill sponsored by state Rep. Dennis Reboletti (R-46th, Elmhurst) earlier this month on Lewis University’s main Romeoville campus.

Senate Bill 1766, also known as the Crime Free Housing bill, is "a giant step forward in allowing families to live without the harassment and criminal problems caused from other tenants," according to a press release from Reboletti's office.

The law, which went into affect immediately, allows landlords to evict tenants who have committed a felony or a Class A misdemeanor while living in the rental property.
