Elaine Zannis, Peter DiCianni and Sean Noonan beat out five other candidates Tuesday night to become the Republican candidates in the November DuPage County Board District 2 race.
They were the top vote-getters in the primary. Zannis won the most votes with a final total of 7,581. She held the lead the entire evening. DiCianni and Noonan switched from second to third place until all votes were counted, making DiCianni the second top vote-getter with 7,033. Noonan received 6,642 votes.
Democratic candidate Elizabeth Chaplin ran unopposed, and will be on the November ballot.

The district includes Elmhurst, Downers Grove, Lisle, Lombard, Oak Brook, and portions of Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Naperville, Oakbrook Terrace, Village Park, Westmont, and Woodridge.
