County officials are less than one month away from voting on the final countywide district map.  Puchalski says District 1 needs to figure out where they will gain 2,850 people.

“Our district is working hard to come to an agreement based on the data shown and also the feedback we’ve been gathering from our constituents,” said Puchalski.

“It’s been a team effort to make sure residents feel comfortable with the process and the changes that need to be made,” said Gonzalez.

“This has been a good example of local government honoring its word on being transparent,” said Fichtner.   “We have maintained a fair and balanced process.”

Public comment will be taken at the forum, at 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Addison Library; 3 Friendship Plaza in Addison.

According to the Committee, the County Board, by law, must draw equally apportioned districts.  Each of the six districts in the state’s second biggest county must be drawn so that 152,821 people live in each.
