Candidate Forum for DuPage District 2 Vacancy

DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin invites residents to attend a District 2 Candidate Forum on Thursday, Feb. 16, when four candidates seeking the nomination to fill the board vacancy will have the opportunity to address the County Board members and the public.

Cronin selected four candidates out of a field of 13 applicants, who have been invited to participate in the candidate forum.

“It’s wonderful to see so many community-minded people who wish to join the County Board’s government reform effort. I am once again impressed by the level of their credentials and know they would be an asset to a variety of public service positions. Based on my experience with the first candidate forum held in District 4 last month, I have chosen to narrow down the field to four candidates who I feel would best serve the public in this position. I look forward to learning more about these four applicants during the forum,” Cronin said.

The four semi-finalist candidates invited to the forum are Michael Ledonne of Lombard, William Mulligan of Downers Grove, Cathy Ficker Terrill of Elmhurst and Zachary Wilson of Lombard.

The Candidate Forum will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the City Council Chambers at Elmhurst City Hall, 209 N. York St., Elmhurst. The forum will be streamed live on the county’s website at dupageco.org.

Following the public forum, Cronin will select a nominee and submit it to the County Board for the Tuesday, Feb. 28, board meeting.

The District 2 vacancy was created in January when County Board member Brien Sheahan resigned. Cronin accepted applications from District 2 residents. The deadline was Feb. 7.
