Elmhurst Library Board and City Council Both Meet on Tuesday this Week

Here's a look at their brief agendas.

Both the Elmhurst City Council and the Elmhurst Public Library Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18. The City Council is meeting a day late due to the Martin Luther King holiday.

Elmhurst City Council

Items on the agenda at City Hall, 209 N. York St., will include approval of the consent agenda, which may or may not generate discussion. In addition to the routine approval of minutes and accounts payable, the consent agenda includes:

  • a report on the Public Building Energy Efficiency Improvement Project
  • the status of a stop sign request at Prospect Avenue and Jackson Street
  • an ordinance authorizing the sale by auction of city property
  • a resolution to approve an amendment to the agreement between Engineering Resources Associates Inc. and the city of Elmhurst
  • a resolution with regard to work permits from the state of Illinois
  • a resolution adopting Public Safety Employee Benefits Act procedures for city employees

Also on the agenda is a progress report on the Stormwater Comprehensive Plan by City Manager Tom Borchert.

Elmhurst Public Library Board

The Elmhurst Public Library Board, as its first order of business Tuesday, will swear in its newest board member, John Morrissey.

The library’s consent agenda, in addition to approval of minutes, will include approval to purchase a display board for the children’s library, renewal of membership in the Metropolitan Library System and revisions to several  policies.

Up next will be approval of the accounts payable, and the financial, director’s and president’s reports.

The board will then read a resolution honoring former board member David Dyer and discuss the latest developments in the search for a new library director.

The Library Board meets in the meeting room at the library, 125 S. Prospect Ave.
