Elmhurst Approves Water Rate Increase

The Elmhurst City Council on Monday approved an increase in its water rates, which would amount to $10 more per month for the average customer using 6,000 gallons per month of water, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The changes will take effect on usage billed on or after April 15 and are meant to help cover an 18 percent increase  "in what the DuPage Water Commission is charging for Lake Michigan water it buys from Chicago," according to the Chicago Tribune.
