Elmhurst Committees Will Discuss TIF, Liquor License for Edelweiss Market, Mariano's Incentives and More

Budget discussion will follow at 8 p.m.

Elmhurst City Council members will meet in their standing committees Monday, March 12, at City Hall, 209 N. York St. The meetings will be followed by a budget discussion. The public will be invited to speak at each meeting.

Development, Planning and Zoning Committee will meet at 6 p.m. for a continued discussion on . The committee will review reports presented by Kane, McKenna and Associates. Also on the agenda is a review of transcription services.

Public Works and Buildings Committee also will meet at 6 p.m. Committee members will discuss:

  • annual rubbish rate adjustment
  • a discussion on sidewalk policy
  • city-owned surface public parking lots
  • electronic waste recycling and prescription drug disposal
  • requirements for new construction with regard to storm sewer connection
  • wastewater treatment plant sludge storage pad roof
  • 2012 salt purchase
  • bids on the wastewater treatment plant paving project

Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. to review general obligation bond refinancing and begin a discussion on incentive requests from . Also on the agenda:

  • review of new fund balance reporting and requirements (GASB 54)
  • project update
  • review of comptroller's local debt recovery program
  • review of 2012-13 proposed general fund revenues

Public Affairs and Safety Committee members will meet at 7 p.m. to discuss the liquor license request by . They also will hear a City Centre parking update and a Fairfield Avenue and Vallette Street stop sign request, and they will discuss traffic control in the Berteau neighborhood.
