Elmhurst City Council Meets Tonight at 7:30

New and re-elected aldermen will take their seats.

Elmhurst City Council will hold its regular meeting tonight, Monday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 209 N. York St.

The first order of business is the inauguration of new and re-elected officials.

Mayor Pete DiCianni will then make a proclamation recognizing Municipal Clerks Week. This will be followed by public comment. Speakers will be asked to limit their comments to three minutes.

In addition to approval of minutes and accounts payable, the consent agenda will include:

  • reappointments to the Elmhurst Economic Development Commission (Richard Reichert and Mark Sabatino) and the Senior Citizens Commission (Kris Hansen)
  • a request that a change in the bylaws of the Youth Commission be referred to the Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services Committee
  • a request that a crosswalk on Spring Road and Kuester’s Way be referred to the Public Affairs and Safety Committee
  • approval of yield signs at the northbound and southbound Cedar Avenue approaches to Niagara Avenue and a request to amend the traffic ordinance to allow for the yield signs
  • approval of an ordinance amending the fees for background checks for pedicabs to $45

DiCianni will then provide any updates.
