Here's a preview of what aldermen will be discussing.

Elmhurst City Council will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. for what appears to be a short meeting for this holiday week.

After a public forum, the city will present the 10-item consent agenda. The council is expected to approve Mayor Pete DiCianni's appointment to the Elmhurst Public Library Board, John Morrissey. Other items from the consent agenda include:

  • Tax levy and budget planning: Refer to the Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services Committee
  • Approval of an ordinance authorizing a purchase and sale agreement for the eastern 8 feet of 153 Addison St.
  • An ordinance approving a series of text amendments to the city's zoning ordinance.
  • A resolution to set the rate for sewage treatment from Illinois American Water Company
  • A resolution to approve an engineering services agreement between Transystems Corp. and the city of Elmhurst
  • A resolution accepting a donation of securities to be held on behalf of the Elmhurst Public Library, authorizing the establishment of a brokerage account and approving and authorizing the execution of an account agreement and disclosure statement with Edward D. Jones and Co. LP.

The mayor also is expected to appoint Scott Levin to temporarily fill the 5th Ward seat of Chris Nybo, who was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in November. Levin also has filed to run for the seat in April.
