Elmhurst Aldermen Continue Budget Talks Monday

Aldermen also will meet in their committees to talk about TIF incentive policy, sewer rates, sidewalks and more.

Elmhurst City Council members will continue their fiscal year 2013 budget talks when they meet as a Committee of the Whole at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 11. For an outline of budget items up for discussion, click here.

But before the budget discussion takes place, aldermen have allowed about an hour to meet in their standing committees, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services Committee will continue review of a tax increment finance and sales tax incentive policy, and will begin review of sewer rates.

Development, Planning and Zoning Committee will discuss a request for a variation at 259 N. Myrtle, and a request to allow "landscape contractors, including outdoor storage," as a conditional use in the I1 restricted industrial district.

The Public Affairs and Safety Committee will discuss the 2013 York and Vallette Farmer's Market and a liquor license request for Mariano's.

Public Works and Buildings Committee will discuss the Howard Avenue proposed sidewalk special service area, sanitary sewer system improvements (check valve draft policy), fuel contract purchase order and bids for the fire hydrant and water main valve repair project.

Public comment will be welcome at every committee meeting; each will take place at City Hall, 209 N. York St.
