DuPage County Board Approves Ledonne Appointment to District 2

Ledonne, who was sworn in on Tuesday, will serve through November.

The DuPage County Board unanimously approved the appointment of of Lombard to the vacant District 2 seat on Tuesday.
 
“I am honored to have been chosen to serve on the board and I look forward to serving the great people of DuPage County," Ledonne said. "We have a wonderful opportunity to transform DuPage County into a model of government and example for the entire state of Illinois to emulate. I am ready to face the challenges over the next nine months and look forward to working for DuPage residents who have placed their trust in us."
 
DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin nominated Ledonne.
 
“After an open and transparent search, I am confident Michael will provide the kind of leadership needed as we continue to provide a smarter and leaner form of government," Cronin said. "His successful background in both the public and private sector will serve him well as the board makes some tough decisions about what is best for residents."

Ledonne is a merchandise supply chain manager for Sears Holdings Corp. in Hoffman Estates. He serves as vice president of the St. Pius X Grade School Board and is a volunteer athletic coach. He is also a member of the York Township Senior Education Commission, Village of Lombard Community Relations Committee and the District 41 Legislative Action Committee.

County Board members Jeff Redick of Elmhurst and Pat O’Shea both participated in the vacancy search.
 
“Michael has a great knowledge of the issues that are important to DuPage County and District 2 in particular. I’m confident that he has the ability to hit the ground running and will make a terrific impact on the County Board,”  Redick said.
 
Ledonne will serve the remainder of former board member , which expires Nov. 30.
