The Lombard resident will serve through November.

DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin today selected Michael Ledonne of Lombard to fill the District 2 vacancy. The appointment is scheduled for approval during the Tuesday, Feb. 28, County Board meeting.

“Michael knows firsthand the financial strains that the private and public sectors are facing. He will provide a unique perspective as we seek to achieve a more accountable and more transparent form of local government in the coming months,” said Cronin. “His experience will serve the County Board and District 2 residents well.”

Ledonne is a merchandise supply chain manager for Sears Holdings Corp. in Hoffman Estates. He serves as vice president of the St. Pius X Grade School Board and as a volunteer athletic coach. He is also a member of the York Township Senior Education Commission, Village of Lombard Community Relations Committee and the District 41 Legislative Action Committee.

A total of 13 residents applied for the vacancy; four of those were invited to participate in a Candidate Forum Feb. 16.

The District 2 vacancy was created in January when Brien Sheahan of Elmhurst resigned from the County Board. Ledonne will serve out the remainder of the term which expires Nov. 30, 2012.
