Committees Will Discuss Budget, Street Resurfacing, Flood Remedies and More

Elmhurst aldermen will meet in their standing committees Monday night, then as a Committee of the Whole to continue the discussion on the 2014 budget. The standing committees meet at 7 p.m.—except for the Public Affairs and Safety Committee, which meets at 4 p.m.—at City Hall, 209 N. York. Committee of the Whole will follow at about 8 p.m.

Public Works and Buildings Committee

  • Request for vacation of property: 557 N. Myrtle
  • Improvements to the heating and air conditioning system at the Elmhurst Historical Museum
  • Purchase of two 2014 Ford Fusion hybrids
  • Purchase of two 2013 Altec aerial bucket trucks
  • Saylor Avenue dry weather force main change order
  • Discussion on concrete street resurfacing

Public Affairs and Safety Committee (4 p.m.)

Development, Planning and Zoning Committee

  • Zoning ordinance map and text amendment for the proposed C3A district for 140 and 160 W. Industrial Drive 
  • Continued discussion of maximum impervious surface
  • Discussion of two new positions: marketing communication coordinator and assistant planning and zoning administrator
  • City's sustainability policy and future goals
The Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services Committee is not scheduled to meet on Monday. Public comment will be welcome at all committee meetings.
