Committees to Discuss Traffic Backup at St. Charles and West, Sunday Liquor Sales and Grease Disposal

Also on the agendas, new stop signs and the 2011 tax levy.

Elmhurst City Council members will meet in their standing committees at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at , 209 N. York St. Members of the public will have an opportunity to speak for up to three minutes before each meeting.

The Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services Committee will discuss the purchase of mobile data terminals, begin review of the 2011 tax levy, review electric aggregation and discuss the community grant program.

Public Affairs and Safety Committee will discuss Sunday hours for liquor sales, a change in the date of the St. Patrick's Day parade, and stop sign requests for Mitchell and McKinley, and Armitage, Oaklawn and Highview. The committee also will review complaints about traffic backup at St. Charles and West Avenue.

Public Works and Buildings Committee will hear a stormwater update, and proposals on York and Brush Hill construction engineering services and membrane roof replacement at the wastewater treatment plant, discuss the sludge pad roof project, discuss enforcement of fat, oil and grease disposal, and consider a bid for a new street sweeper.

The Development, Planning and Zoning Committee will discuss two requests for yard variations. The first is for a front yard setback and lot coverage variations to construct an unenclosed front porch at 130 N. Larch Ave. The second is a request for interior side yard variations to construct a detached one-car garage at 470 E. Vallette.
