Budget, TIF and Recycling Policy Discussion on Committee Agendas

Also, committee members will discuss the community grant program and review bids for several projects. They will meet as a committee of the whole for a budget discussion afterward.

Elmhurst City Council members will meet in their standing committees at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at City Hall, 209 N. York St. Public comment will be welcome at the end of each meeting. Members of the public will be invited to speak for up to three minutes on topics relevant to the committee.

Following are the agenda items for each committee:

Development, Planning and Zoning Committee

  • TIF qualification reports by Kane, McKenna and Associates
  • Review of transcription services

Finance, Council Affairs and Administrative Services Committee

  • Continued review of the community grant program
  • Review of the 2012-13 proposed budget for finance, human resources and information technology departments
  • Review of the 2012-13 proposed budget

Public Works and Buildings Committee

  • Review a proposal for a 2012-14 mosquito management program
  • Discussion on planning and design for the wastewater treatment plant sludge storage pad roof
  • Discussion on refuse and recycling policy
  • Bid reviews for the 2012-14 uniform contract, a 4-ton trailer mounted asphalt hot box and 2012 hydrant water main valve repair project

Public Affairs and Safety Committee

  • Recommendation to approve 2012 Bike Rodeo
  • Recommendation to approve 2012 Elmhurst 4 on the 4th
  • Consultant for selection of a new police chief
  • Overview of the police and fire department budget
  • Discussion on safety controls at unwarranted intersections

Committee members will meet as a committee of the whole following their individual meetings to discuss the 2012-13 budget.
