The council will then vote on approval to fill two positions: a full-time marketing and communications coordinator and an assistant planning and zoning administrator.

The assistant planning and zoning administrator position was previously full-time and was replaced in 2005 with a full-time “planner" position. In 2007, due to the recession, the planner position was vacated and not refilled. The assistant planning and zoning position was budgeted for but not filled in 2012, and has again been budgeted in 2014. Due to the volume and scope of development requests, the position is again needed, according to a memo from the Development, Planning and Zoning Committee.
