York Student Brings a Knife to School

Student is released without charges.

Police were called to York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road, at 12:18 p.m. Monday after a student was found to be in possession of a 5 1/2-inch steel throwing knife.

The knife, which the student said belonged to his father, was found in his bag and placed into evidence. The student was released to his mother without charges "for the time being," police said.
