Woman Tells Police She Was Drugged, Assaulted Friday Night

Police say victim ended up on a bus in Melrose Park.

A woman told police she may have been drugged Friday night while partying with some co-workers at Arena, 630 W. Lake St.

According to an Elmhurst police report, the woman said she began the evening at Arena at about 6:30 p.m. Friday. She said she had two shots of tequila and two beers, and she left her drink at the table several times to go to the bathroom.

She left Arena, and the next thing she remembered was waking up on a party bus and realizing she had thrown up, the police report said. She felt someone grabbing her, and she felt as if her pants were being pulled off but she was unable to stop it and did not know who was doing it, police said. She heard a co-worker telling the offender to "stop doing that."

The bus returned to Arena at about 3 a.m. Saturday, and the victim drove home.

Police determined the incident occurred in Melrose Park, and the victim was advised that she could pursue a criminal complaint with the Melrose Park police.
