Woman Calling Cops After Boyfriend Punches Her Goes to Jail Too: Police

A woman whose boyfriend allegedly beat her had warrants for her arrest.

A woman went to jail when she called the cops after her boyfriend beat her, police said.

Nicole Roman, 23, of 632 N. Ellsworth Ave. in Addison was arrested Monday on warrants charging her with failing to appear in court for drunken driving and retail theft cases.

A 911 dispatcher took a call about 5 a.m. Monday from a crying woman who "would not make voice contact," police said.

Elmhurst officers headed over to the Courtyard By Marriott on Route 83 to check on the caller and "observed signs of physical injury on (Roman) whose boyfriend hit her repeatedly in the face with a closed fist," police said.

The boyfriend, Richard Watson, 28, of 221 S. Illinois Ave. in Villa Park, was charged with domestic battery. He also was taken to the DuPage County jail.
