Woman Allegedly Takes Kids on a Pot Run, Driver Spots Man with Gun, and Road Rage Leads to Broken Glasses

Delivery of Cannabis

Ashley Thompson, 23, 661 E. Constitution, Palatine, was arrested at 1:17 p.m. June 21 after she drove from Palatine with her two young children to deliver 30 grams of cannabis to the area of St. Charles Road and West Avenue, police said. She was charged with attempted delivery of cannabis and endangering the health and safety of her children. Police contacted the Department of Children and Family Services. The Chevy Cavalier she was driving was released to the owner, and Thompson was released on I-bond.

DUI Arrest

Autumn A. McFarland, 33, 231 E. Fremont #130, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after the Mitsubishi Galant she was driving was involved in a hit-and-run crash at 11:57 p.m. June 21 at North and West avenues. She was released on I-bond.

Report of a Man with a Gun

Police responded at 6:33 p.m. June 21 to a report of a man with a gun in the area of York and Butterfield roads. A witness driving in the area said a man in the vehicle next to him was holding a black handgun. Police located the suspect, and a black Phantom 4.5 mm BB gun was placed into evidence for destruction.

Road Rage

A man in his 40s, with grey hair and a medium build, allegedly injured another motorist during a traffic dispute at 7:58 p.m. June 21 in the area of Mitchell and Wilson streets. The victim told police that he and the offender got out of their vehicles and began arguing. The suspect snatched the victim’s glasses from his face, causing a cut and bruising, and damaging the glasses. The offender, who was wearing a T-shirt and cargo shorts, then fled south in a black Lexus SUV.

Vandalism

Police said a man delivering flyers got angry when he lost his way and ended up getting arrested. Wayne E. Zonsius, 48, 917 W. Wilson St., Elmhurst, ripped a ReMax Realty sign out of a lawn on Lawndale, then damaged another sign on Marion Street at 9:18 a.m. June 21. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and vandalism, then released on I-bond.
