Windows Smashed at Jefferson and Conrad Fischer Schools
And graffiti "artists" are keeping the spray-paint companies in business.
Someone threw two rocks at two double-pane glass windows on the southwest corner of Jefferson School, 360 W. Crescent Ave., between 3 p.m. May 24 and 7 a.m. May 28. Damage to each window is estimated at $300.
The gymnasium window at Conrad Fischer School, 888 Wilson, was broken between May 24 and 28. Damage is estimated at $100.
Someone painted "WOF" on a yield sign on the southeast corner of Kenilworth and Orchard between 10 a.m. May 25 and 10:10 a.m. May 26.
Someone smashed the windows on the west side of Just Tires, 570 W. North Ave., with landscaping rocks between 8 p.m. May 17 and 6:20 a.m. May 18.
Someone broke the driver-side window on a vehicle parked on the 600 block of West North Avenue between 9:15 and 11:38 p.m. May 15. Nothing appeared to be missing, but the items inside were moved.
A concrete box on the north side of Butterfield Park next to the waste station was spray-painted with "FOTZ: and "AHORA" between 2:30 p.m. May 10 and 2:30 p.m. May 13.
"WOLE" was spray-painted in red paint on the brick wall at the Jackson and Saylor waste station between 10 a.m. May 13 and 3 p.m. May 14.
Someone spray-painted "SARS," "SLEK," "GUTS," "gut," "2 JABS," a smiley face, a peace sign and other symbols on the west wall of the pedestrian underpass at North and Myrtle. The graffiti was discovered at 11 a.m. May 13.
A vehicle parked on the 600 block of Hawthorne was scratched by unknown means between 6 p.m. May 6 and 8 a.m. May 7. Damage is estimated at $5,000.
Someone spray-painted "Wolf" and "XO" on the base of the water tower at 225 E. Butterfield sometime between May 6 and 2:20 p.m. May 8.
Someone smashed the front drivers side window of a vehicle parked at Ed Napleton Acura, 700 W. Lake St., between 6 p.m. May 4 and 7 a.m. May 6. Damage is estimated at $300. The vehicle belongs to a customer who dropped it off for service.
Two red doors on the Schiller parking deck, 118 E. Schiller, were defaced with graffiti between 8 a.m. May 5 and 9:09 a.m. May 6.
Someone wrote "Darkness" in purple spray paint on a brick wall in the alley behind the 600 block of North York Road. The damage was discovered at 12:03 a.m. May 4.
The word "MAZE" was written on the west side of the traffic control box on the northwest corner of York and Arthur. The damage was discovered at 1:39 p.m. May 2.
A witness said a group of teenagers on bicycles hit the drivers side mirror of his vehicle with a baseball bat or rod at 2 p.m. April 27. The vehicle was parked on the 300 block of Fremont.
Someone spray-painted "CALM 123" and "SLO" on two locations of the Salt Creek walking path, St. Charles and Salt Creek. The damage, estaimated at $100, was discovered at 10:52 a.m. April 29.
Someone spray-painted "BiGt" in white and blue spray paint on the brick wall of Jefferson School, 360 E. Crescent, between 3 p.m. April 26 and 3:08 p.m. April 28.
Someone spray-painted an arrow and WP on the sidewalk under the train tracks at Poplar and Cayuga. The damage was discovered at 9:01 a.m. April 27.
A "No Trucks" sign on the southeast corner of MB Financial Bank parking lot, 990 N. York Road, was vandalized with the letters O.A., spray-painted in black. The damage was discovered at 1:16 a.m. April 28.
Someone cut the AT&T phone lines to York Road Mart, 641 N. York Road, between 6 p.m. April 20 and 8:30 a.m. April 22. Damage is estimated at $200.
Four concrete flower planters were knocked over at Second and Addison at 12:41 a.m. April 14.
Someone spray-painted teh words "TRiX" and "regal ART" in blue, green and pink on the south foundation wall of the pumping station at 458 S. West Ave. between March 1 and 11:05 a.m. April 9.
Someone spray-painted the yield sign at Crescent and Hillside with gold paint between 6 a.m. April 8 and 9:08 a.m. April 9.
