Windows Broken, Tires Slashed, Possible Gang Graffiti Found

Also, ding dong ditch gets out of control.

A resident of the 200 block of Claremont told police that a group of juveniles rang his doorbell repeatedly and pounded on a glass window so hard that it broke at 7:37 p.m. Nov. 22. The resident said the boys appeared to be about 14 years old. Police received multiple calls for "ding dong ditching" in the neighborhood that night. Damage is estimated at $100.

Someone slashed all four tires on a Chevy Equinox and on a Chevy Malibu parked in a driveway on the 300 block of North River Glen between 7 p.m. Nov. 20 and 7 p.m. Nov. 21.

The rear window of a black Chevy SUV parked at Spring Hill Suites, 410 W. Lake St., was broken out between 9 p.m. Nov. 25 and 7 a.m. Nov. 26. Nothing was taken from the vehicle, but the damage to the window is estimated at $250.

Someone spray-painted three outer walls of the water pumping station on the 600 block of South Sunnyside Avenue between Nov. 26 and 10 a.m. Dec. 2.

Two aluminum light poles on the 800 block of North York Road were discovered spray-painted at 11:06 a.m. Dec. 4. The markings appear to be gang related, police said.

Holes from what appeared to be BBs were found in several windows at Trust 410, 260 W. Grand Ave. The damage occurred between 11:59 p.m. Dec. 3 and 1:46 p.m. Dec. 4.

Someone jumped on the hood of a 2013 Dodge Journey on the 500 block of West St. Charles, causing a $250 dent at 9:04 p.m. Dec. 7.

The lamp bulbs on the Christmas decorations by the fountain at City Centre were broken between 9:33 p.m. Dec. 6 and 10:24 a.m. Dec. 11.

The driver side door of a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue was damaged sometime before 5 p.m. Dec. 14 while the vehicle was parked on the 100 block of West First Street.

Someone used a rock to break a basement window on a home on the 400 block of Commonwealth the afternoon of Dec. 21 when the resident was not home. Damage is estimated at $100.

Stop signs at Third and Larch and at Third and Addison were found bent at their base overnight Dec. 21.

The rear window of a vehicle parked on the 400 block of North Berteau was shattered between 10:45 and 11:45 a.m. Dec. 22. Nothing was removed from the vehicle.
