Villa Park Man Forfeits Car After Being Arrested for Driving on a Revoked License

Police also report street lamp shot and several thefts from vehicles.

Driving on a Revoked License

Jose A. Delatorre, 33, 532 W. Division Apt. 4, Villa Park, was arrested for driving with a revoked license after police pulled over his silver Dodge Ram for failure to signal and an improper right turn at North and Villa at 2:45 a.m. Feb. 2. He was released on bond and his vehicle towed for forfeiture.

A street light at 888 Hawthorne was shot several times with a pellet gun. Police found two "distorted pellets" in the light fixture, but did not have a time frame for the incident. The report was made at 11:38 a.m. Feb. 2

Theft

Someone smashed out the front passenger window of a vehicle parked at Courts Plus, 186 S. West Ave., between 8 and 8:50 a.m. Feb. 1 and removed an orange Tory Burch purse worth $300 that was under the front seat. The purse contained a drivers license, several credit cards, insurance cards, an employee ID and cell phone. The purse was recovered at Walmart in Villa Park with none of the items missing.

A purse was recovered by Elmhurst Terrace Apartments maintenance worker at 100 Fellows Court at 9:48 a.m. Feb. 1. The purse had been stolen from a vehicle in Villa Park.

Someone stole a wallet from an unlocked vehicle parked at 7-Eleven, 590 S. York Road, between 8:47 and 8:51 a.m. Feb. 2. The suspect was a male white in a dark baseball cap and winter Carhartt-type jacket. He was driving a mid-sized four-door car, possibly a Saturn, Hyundai or Toyota. The victim found out that her wallet was stolen when she received a call from her insurance agent, who said someone had found it.

A resident of the 500 block of Fay agreed to change her cable television service to Dish Network last October, but she later found out the person she talked to was not an employee of Dish Network.
