Villa Park Man Charged With Indecent Solicitation of a Child

Timothy Stehle was arrested by Elmhurst police after an ongoing investigation into Internet crimes.

A Villa Park man has been arrested by Elmhurst police for indecent solicitation of a child, according to an announcement from the Elmhurst Police Department Friday evening, June 28. 

Timothy J. Stehle, 45, was arrested June 8 after an investigation by Elmhurst police into computer-related crimes and sexual predatory offenses against children.

During the undercover investigation, Stehle allegedly was targeting Elmhurst juveniles on Craigslist for sexual encounters. He was, in fact, communicating with an Elmhurst officer posing as a 15-year-old girl, police said.

Stehle was confronted by investigators on the 800 block of North York Road in Elmhurst, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was taken to DuPage County Jail and his bond set at $100,000.
