Vehicle-Related Thefts Range From License Plate to Whole Trailer

Truck driver who loses moving dolly found to wanted on warrant.

Trailer Stolen

Someone stole an empty, 40-foot Great Dane trailer that had been backed into the farthest east spot of the dock area of a business on the 300 block of Fischer Farm Road. Its value was $10,000. A security camera was on the building  and police are checking whether it captured anything.

License Plate Stolen

A resident of the 700 block of Indiana Street reported June 6 that the rear license plate was removed from a vehicle parked overnight in the driveway.

Driver Loses Dolly, Found to be Wanted

A delivery truck driver lost a moving dolly in traffic at York and Grand Avenue June 6 but it was recovered by another driver who had run it over with his vehicle. When the first driver returned to the scene to report the incident, Elmhurst police found he was wanted on a warrant. Raymond Nava, 56, of 2610 Oakton in Park Ridge, was arrested and extradited by Park Ridge police.

Driver in Accident Was ‘Drunk’

A Hanover Park woman was found to be intoxicated after an accident at County Line and Romans roads at about 4:13 a.m. June 6, according to Elmhurst police. Nancy Garcia, 21, of 1463 S. Sacramento Drive was ticketed for driving under the influence, improper lane usage and no proof of insurance. The other driver, a 66-year-old Chicago woman, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. Both vehicles were towed.
