'Kill White People' Found Written on Chalk Board at Stanger Hall

Latest incident either was retaliation or was made to look like retailiation.

The words "Kill White People" were found written in chalk on a chalk board on the first floor of the Stanger Hall dormitory at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave.

Elmhurst police reported that a student attending a floor meeting noticed the words at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 9. She contacted a resident advisor, who contacted the resident life coordinator and Elmhurst College security.

Residents of the dorm are being questioned and an investigation is pending.

The incident comes on the heels of another incident at Stanger Hall, where the words "Negro," "KKK" and "I hate black people," were found carved into a windowsill at the dorm on Dec. 8.

Elmhurst College student and , 21, of Libertyville, was indicted by a grand jury last week on felony hate crimes in that case. He has been held at DuPage County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail since last month and faces up to five years in jail if convicted. He has pleaded not guilty.
