Fortunately, there were no massacres on Valentine's Day this year, but Elmhurst police were kept busy nonetheless. Here is a listing of arrests made on Thursday, Feb. 14.
Possession of Cannabis
Veronica Guma, 22, 2413 George St., Franklin Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled over her tan Hyundai Sonata for improper lane use at Schiller and Willow at 2:38 a.m. Feb. 14. She was released on bond.
Use of an Air Rifle
Maxtin Cambra-Munoz, 19, 277 Fair, Elmhurst, and Jackson Lucero, 20, 416 S. Prairie Ave., Elmhurst, were charged under city ordinance with use of an air rifle to endanger property after police received a call from a resident on the 200 block of Boyd Street at 4:34 p.m. Feb. 14. The resident said two windows in her house had been shot out by BBs fired from a neighbor's back yard.
Retail Theft Arrest
Madison McNabb, 18, 802 S. Addison, Bensenville, and a 17-year-old girl were arrested and charged with retail theft after police said they removed several items of clothing from Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, at 8:53 p.m. Feb. 14. They were released on bond.
Fraud
A Chase Bank employee reported that a man came into the branch at 534 St. Charles Road at 11 a.m. Feb. 14 and inquired about opening an account. He wanted to know how quickly he could get a debit card. The banker took his information and ran it through Chase Bank's records system. His name was flagged as someone who had opened a fraudulent account. When the banker returned, the man was gone.
Driving with a Suspended License
Rodney Williams, 43, 1357 N. Waller, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance after police pulled over his bronze Buick Park Avenue for speeding and improper lane use at Roosevelt and Route 83 at 3:04 a.m. Feb. 14. He was released on bond.
