US Bank on South York Robbed by Two Men Monday Afternoon

Men implied they had a weapon during bold, daytime robbery.

The US Bank branch at 536 S. York Road was robbed by two men who implied they had a weapon at 4:50 p.m. Monday, May 13, according to a bulletin issued by Elmhurst police Chief Michael Ruth.

US Bank employees told police that a white man in a gray hoodie and a black man in a yellow hoodie entered the bank and announced they were robbing the place. One of the offenders pushed a teller, and they both jumped over the counter and removed an undetermined amount of money, according to the statement. A weapon was not displayed.

The men fled on foot, possibly to a waiting getaway car, according to information provided by police. Officers set up a perimeter and searched the area with the police K-9 unit, but the offenders were not found.

No employees were injured during the robbery.

Elmhurst police detectives are assisting and cooperating with the FBI, which has original jurisdiction for this case.
