Two Homes Broken Into and a Car Stolen From a Driveway on Thursday

Jewelry, a television and cash stolen from the homes.

Residential Burglaries

Two homes were burglarized on Thursday, Oct. 4, Elmhurst police reported.

Someone entered a home on the 300 block of North Shady Lane between 7:15 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday and took several pieces of jewelry. Police did not provide an estimate of value.

Also on Thursday, someone entered a home one block over, on the 400 block of North Shady Lane, between noon and 7:30 p.m. and took a television, bracelet and $100 in coins. Total loss is estimated at $1,200. There were no signs of forced entry, police said.

Vehicle Stolen From Driveway

A resident of the 100 block of South West Avenue told police his white Honda Civic hatchback was stolen from his driveway. The victim parked the vehicle in his driveway at 11 p.m. Oct. 3. When he got up at 6:45 a.m. Oct. 4, it was gone. The vehicle was later located by Chicago police in Chicago's 15th District.
